Discover two UNESCO World Heritage Sites on a comfortable full-day excursion from Madrid by private car. The Royal Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial is located 50 minutes from Madrid; it is a masterpiece built in the 16th century during the reign of Philip II and one of Spain's most iconic monuments. In the morning, we will visit this grand complex, which is a royal palace, monastery, basilica, and mausoleum, reflecting the power and religious devotion of the Habsburgs. Afterward, we will travel to the beautiful city of Segovia, which boasts Roman monuments, a magnificent cathedral, and a fairytale castle. On our tour, we will visit the most emblematic monuments: the Roman aqueduct, built almost 2,000 years ago; the Gothic cathedral; and the medieval Alcázar, a beautiful palace-fortress that has served as a royal residence and military stronghold throughout the centuries. After visiting the monuments and enjoying free time to sample the local cuisine, we will return to Madrid.
